"Overhaul Education System"

That was part of the headline of a story printed last Thursday in one of the national English newspapers, The Guardian.

This story gives you some indication of just why what we're up to here in Dodoma is important.

One of the conclusions of the report is that even graduates of universities have "problems with communication, analytical and presentation skills, which often translate into problems with competence." These, in fact, are the very skills that graduates of Jesuit schools often excel in.

As daunting (and even frustrating at times) as this huge project is, it is knowing what a difference St. Peter Claver High School at OLQP will make that makes me excited about the project.

What we are about to do will make a difference to some children, yes; but it will serve as a model along with the Jesuit school in Dar es Salaam, Loyola High School, for what schooling can look like, thus potentially affecting positively the education of thousands of others.
